The primary construction uses a 55% Merino wool / 35% nylon / 10% elastane blend that combines Merino’s exceptional natural moisture-wicking and odor-suppression properties with nylon’s structural durability in a sock that performs consistently from the first kilometre to the last. Merino wool’s natural crimp structure creates microscopic air pockets within the fiber that provide insulating warmth in cold conditions while simultaneously preventing heat buildup in warmer hiking conditions — a thermal regulation property that synthetic fibers cannot replicate. The cushioning system uses a graduated density approach: maximum cushioning at the heel strike zone and ball of foot, moderate cushioning across the arch, and minimal cushioning at the toe box where fit precision is most important for technical footwork on uneven ground. Reinforced zones at the toe cap and heel cup use additional nylon reinforcement woven into the Merino blend that resists the abrasive wear concentrated at these boot contact points.
